March is well on its way and in only 4 more days Envirotech will be representing their brand at the CeBIT data centre convention in Hanover, Germany. Kristian Osestad (CEO) and Kent Vorland (UK Area Manager) will be representing the company, with high ambitions of building a presence and name for themselves in the European markets.
The preparations have been immense leading up to the convention, with everything from social media posts to executive meetings and workshops around Norway and in London. Now all that remains is looking forward to seeing all the exhibitors from around the world, showing off the latest in the industry.
You will find Envirotech at stand C04 in hall 12.
Envirotech`s Expectations for CeBIT
For Envirotech, who are in the early development stages, an interesting part of a data centre convention of this size is to get an idea of what the newest technology consists of. Here, let’s take a few examples of the most recent updates for 2016.
Seagate has launched its first 10TB enterprise capacity hard disk drive, merging high capacity with the industry’s lowest power and weight available in a 10TB drive. Seagate is working towards meeting the ever increasing demand for storage from both private and public, cloud-based data centres. The drive comes in a standard 3.5 inch CMR design and saves in helium in order to create a turbulence free, quiet environment, decreasing both friction and resistance on all 7 platters incorporated. All in all this HDD dramatically helps increase businesses petabytes per rack.
Another addition to the market is Siemon’s newly launched skinnypatch, modular patch cords. Their SkinnyPatch 6 modular patch cords deliver category 6 performance with a reduced diameter for improved pathway fill, airflow and increased flexibility in high density patching areas. Using a 28 AWG standard copper construction they have enabled cable diameter of as little as 4.0mm!
For anyone thinking of, or currently running an SME, this next piece might be of interest. DataCentred has recently teamed up with Fantastic Cloud Services to power their SaaS offering for SMEs. Serving the SME market, Fantastic Cloud offers a complete outsourced software defined managed service based on several award winning products. This partnership will surely be worth following in the future.
Though exciting, these three examples of innovation and progress in the data centre industry does not even scratch the surface of what Envirotech and its team expects to see during this year’s CeBIT convention.
We look forward to this upcoming Monday, and hope to see as many of you there as possible!
